5. They think that an oath need not be kept, and they misuse oaths in the most trivial matters, thus ignoring the evangelical admonition not to swear at all. [ἐπειδή, φασίν, ὀμνύει καὶ ὁ Θεὸς ὡς τὸ ὤμοσε Κύριος τῷ Δαυὶδ καὶ κατ' ἐμαυτοῦ ὤμοσα.][Trans. mine: For, they say, God also swears, for example, "I swore to David," and "By myself I have sworn."]

6. They do not in the least shrink from perjury, either, for the pope himself forgives in advance for breach of oath the one who is about to swear and remits the punishment for his lapse.

εʹ. Τόν ὅρκον άκώλυτον τελέως ἡγοῦνται, καὶ εἰς φαυλοτάτας ὑποθέσεις αὐτῷ καταχρῶνται, τὸ εὐαγγελικὸν τὸ μὴ ὀμνύειν ὅλως εἰς οὐδὲν τιθέμενοι, ἐπειδή, φασίν, ὀμνύει καὶ ὁ Θεὸς ὡς τὸ ὤμοσε Κύριος τῷ Δαυὶδ καὶ κατ' ἐμαυτοῦ ὤμοσα.

ςʹ. Άλλὰ καὶ τὴν ἐπιορκίαν οὐδὲ μικρὸν ὑποστέλλονται, φθάνει δὲ καὶ ὁ Πάπας αὐτὸς συγχωρῶν αὐτοῖς μελλόντων ὅρκων παράβασιν καὶ τὴν ἐπὶ ταύτῃ κατάκρισιν.
