7: That Christians should not be prone to gluttony, and
should stay away from licentious shows, and should not swear oaths readily,
as the Lord says ‘Do not swear an oath at all, neither by heaven, because it is
the throne of God, nor by the earth, because it is his footstool, nor by
Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great king, nor should you swear by
your head, because you cannot make one hair black or white, but your word
should be ‘yes’, or ‘no’. Anything more than these comes from the evil one.’
